One sensor, three applications

John Deere’s new 9000 Series self-propelled forager with HarvestLab 3000 constituent sensing system makes its UK show working debut.

John Deere’s new 9000 Series self-propelled forager with HarvestLab 3000 constituent sensing system makes its UK show working debut.
HarvestLab uses state-of-the-art NIR technology for real-time forage/manure analysis. It makes instant on-the-go, in-field adjustments based on highly accurate data and millions of hours of experience to ensure maximum chopping efficiency, forage quality and utilisation.
The same sensor is used:
• to enable automatic length-of-cut adjustment and silage additive dosing on the forager, based on dry matter content;
• in stationary mode for analysing clamp silage, to manage feed rations more accurately;
• for analysing constituents in manure when operating a slurry tanker.
